Electronic waste mainly includes a variety of discarded computers, communication equipment, televisions, refrigerators, washing machines and other electronic and electrical products after use. 

Waste TV sets and computers pollute the environment mainly from cathode ray tubes, printed circuit boards and plastic parts. Lead, chromium, cadmium, mercury and other metals contained in cathode ray tubes and printed circuit boards have adverse effects on the environment and human health. 

Televisions and computers also contain arsenic, brominated flame retardants, polyvinyl chloride and other hazardous substances. But e-waste also contains a lot of recyclable resources.
